How much to know about freeze protection

Hello!

The nationwide cooling comes. The cooling water temperature of the equipment is too low, which will cause the laser, water cooler and water cooling pipeline to freeze, and the volume will expand after freezing and damage the relevant components.

 

►Laser anti-freeze

If the downtime is short, when the external ambient temperature is lower than 5 degrees Celsius, please keep the water cooler in operation for 24 hours, check that the water cooler is in good working condition, and keep the cooling water of the water cooler in circulating working condition at all times; meanwhile, keep the laser in external control mode (power on, key on) so that the cooling water inside the laser is still in circulating working condition without freezing.

 

►Check on the working condition of water cooler

Please check and confirm that the water cooler is in good working condition!

① The parameters of the water cooler are set correctly (temperature: 23℃~25℃; temperature difference: 1°~2°).

② The temperature adjustment function is normal (whether the water cooler can reach the preset temperature value).

③ The water pressure of the water cooler is normal, the water cooling pipeline is smooth, no water leakage and other abnormalities.

④ The water cooler has no abnormal alarms such as "low water pressure, lack of refrigerant", or related error codes.

WARNING: If the water cooler is shut down due to a malfunction or power failure, there is a risk of icing up and damaging the equipment!

 

►About the addition of antifreeze

You can add Antifrogen N antifreeze from Clariant, the antifreeze recommended by the laser manufacturer. The addition ratio is 3:7 (3 is antifreeze and 7 is water). The addition of antifreeze can resist low temperatures below zero degrees and reduce the risk of icing. If the external ambient temperature is too low (below -10°C), it is still necessary to keep the water cooler on 24H.

Instructions: When the temperature rises above 5°C, the original antifreeze needs to be drained and replaced with regular deionized water.

►Maintenance matters about winter shutdown

During the year-end holidays, if the laser and water cooler are not used for a long time, you need to empty the water inside the water cooler and laser as much as possible.

(1) Water tank drainage method: As in Figure 1 and Figure 2, open the lower drain valve of the water tank, drain the water from the tank, and tilt the water cooler at a certain angle to make the lowest point of the drain.

(2) Drainage in the pipeline: As in Figure 3 and Figure 4, use compressed air of about 0.2MPA to blow from the import and export of chilled water and room temperature water for 1 minute respectively, and drain the water from the drainage port of the water tank.

(3) Open the tank cover to observe whether there is still residual water in the tank, if so, slightly tilt the water cooler to make the water flow out or use a dry towel to absorb the water dry.

(4) water cooler pump head drainage: Figure 5, in the lower part of each pump head has a water release screw, when the water cooler needs to stop or transport for a long time, you should open the pump head water release screw to let out the water in the pump, it is best to blow out with compressed air, and then tighten the water release screw.

(5) filter drainage: remove the plexiglass housing to exclude the residual water.

►Cautions for the first start-up after holiday shutdown

1、If the ambient temperature is above 5 degrees Celsius, add deionized water directly, adjust the water cooler to the on state, test the working state of the water cooler (no water leakage and other abnormalities), wait until the water temperature reaches the preset value to turn on the equipment.

2, if the ambient temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, if you add antifreeze can continue to use; when the ambient temperature is higher than 5 degrees Celsius, pay attention to change to conventional deionized water.

3、Water change method: drain the cooling water with antifreeze, fill with deionized water. Start the water cooler for 10 minutes of water circulation, and then drain the water, repeat twice, and finally fill up with conventional deionized water.
